64 + 16pp., 16mo. In blue cloth binding, with cover design stamped in gilt. All edges gilt. In fair condition, aged, worn and shaken, with rear endpaper torn away. Coloured frontispiece showing 'The Soldier and the Blind Fiddler'. At rear is a sixteen-page catalogue of 'Books for the Young, Published by Knight and Son, 12, Clerkenwell Close.' Now scarce: although there are 10 copies on WorldCat (where the book is ascribed to Goodrich, and dated), none of them, or on COPAC, are noted as being in Britain.

Autograph Letter Signed ('F. B. Goodrich') from the American author Frank Boott Goodrich to Robert R. Corson, regarding references in his forthcoming 'Tribute Book' to the Union Volunteer Refreshment Saloon.

The letter concerns Goodrich's 'The Tribute Book: A Record of the Munificence, Self-sacrifice and Patriotism of the American People during the War for the Union' (1865). He is sending 'proofs of the pages Corson desires to see. 'The first few pages are printed & cannot be changed: in the others, anything vital can be corrected.'; He thinks Corson 'will find that I have fallen into none of the errors you are apprehensive of'. To do so would have been 'unpardonable', as Goodrich 'had full information from which to make my articles'.

One Autograph Letter Signed and one Typed Letter Signed to Stanley T. Cross, of the Registry of the International Court of Justice, the Hague; and four Typed Letters Signed to Cross's widow (all signatures 'E Hambro').

Letter One: in manuscript; to Cross; 3 September 1949; on 'Edvard Hambro' letterhead; 8vo, 2 pp. Affectionate letter on Cross's retirement from the Registry of the International Court. '[...] I find the Peace Palace curiously empty without you. I am going to miss your visits to my room and mine to yours.
