[Billet Autographe Signée] Autograph Note Signed "F Barry" with a cover note by Eugene Philippe (on its verso) and a Letter Signed "[Etienne] Dujardin-Beaumetz" (1852-1913), sous secrétaire d'Etat aux Beaux-Arts, about Barry's works.
{Note/Billet} One page, c.16 x 11cm, some marking but text clear and complete, but partly illegible as follows: "Il faudrait . . . fut . . . merci un . . . je te ferais alors un bien joli tableau / FBarry/" This note has been soake away from a larger piece of paper in poor condition. at the foot of which an unknown hand explained that "Ces quelques lignes sont les dernieres que Monsieur Barry aient ecrits. Elles datent de 22 Aout 1905. / Monsieur Barry est mort le Dimanche 3 Septembre 1905 à midi moins 20, étant né le 3 Mai 1743." On the verso of this note, formerly hidden by Barry's note being laid down, stained by glue but text legible, Eugene Philippe has written a note as follows: "Je recommande ce cahier d'autographes aux bons soins de Madame Layet / afin qu'elle lui fasse un sermon pour qu'il n'aille pas important - Monsieur Barry, à qui il voudrait demander quelques lignes de sa main sur la page qui suite et qui est blanc!" WITH: Letter Signed "Dujardin-Beaumetz, sous secrétaire d'Etat aux Beaux-Arts", to Eugene Philippe, [Printed heading] Republique Française, . . . Beaux Arts, etc.,[stamped] 18 Nov. 1905, two pages, folio, en français, some minor damage not affecting text. Philippe has requested on behalf of Barry's family, a list of his paintings held in French museums. The reserach of his Department has found pictures at the Musée de Blois ("Une Marine"), the Musée de Lyon ("Une Marine"), the Musée de Marseille (six paintings listed inc. "Rade de Cherbourg" and "La Bretagne"), and Musée de Farbes ("Entrée du vieux port de Marseille").
