One page, 4to, fold marks, minor spotting, good condition. I beg to thank you for the facilities afforded Mr. E.D. Preston [author of The United States Coast and Geodetic Survey: its origin, development, and present status] of the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, while engaged in gravity and magnetic observations at Bridgetown in May last. The occupation of the old Naval Hospital which you kindly placed at the service of the party, lightened the labor of the observers very materially, and the assistance given by your subordinates in thepreparatory work enabled the observations to be made expeditiously and satisfactorily.
